Sea-Run Brown & Monster Rainbow Trout Adventure
February 20 to March 3,  2027

  A Patagonia Fly Fishing Doubleheader

This hosted Patagonian adventure brings together two of Argentina’s most iconic trout fisheries, the legendary
sea-run brown trout of the Rio Gallegos and the giant resident rainbows of Estancia Laguna Verde, into one unforgettable journey at the far edge of the world.

Set against sweeping steppe, wild rivers, and endless southern skies, this trip is designed for anglers who appreciate challenge, solitude, and fisheries that still feel truly untamed.

Rio Gallegos – Sea-Run Brown Trout

The Rio Gallegos is revered worldwide as one of the great sea-run brown trout rivers on earth. These powerful fish migrate from the Atlantic and push deep into the river system, growing thick, chrome-bright, and exceptionally strong.

Fishing here is a true sporting experience, long casts, wind-tested presentations, and fish that demand respect. When a Rio Gallegos sea-run eats, there is no mistaking it. These are hard-charging trout that test both tackle and angler, rewarding patience and commitment with some of the most memorable fights in fly fishing.

Estancia Laguna Verde – Monster Patagonia Rainbows

After the intensity of the Gallegos, we shift gears to Estancia Laguna Verde, home to massive, aggressive rainbow trout that live entirely in freshwater yet grow to astonishing size.

This fishery is known for its variety, lakes, spring creeks, and flowing water—where sight-fishing, streamer eats, and technical presentations all come into play. Laguna Verde’s rainbows are thick, vividly colored, and unapologetically predatory. These are fish that hunt flies, not the other way around.

Sea-Run & Monster Rainbow Adventure
Trip Overview

This hosted adventure brings together two of Patagonia’s most thrilling trout fisheries in one unforgettable journey. We begin on the legendary waters of the Rio Gallegos system, targeting powerful sea-run brown trout fresh from the South Atlantic, chrome bright, hard-charging fish that test tackle, skill, and resolve. From long swings and classic presentations to heart-stopping grabs, this is big-water trout fishing at its finest.

From there, the adventure shifts gears to the stillwaters of Estancia Laguna Verde, home to some of the largest rainbow trout found anywhere in the world. These are true freaks of nature, thick, heavily spotted fish that have grown massive in a cold, nutrient-rich environment. Sight fishing, long casts, explosive eats, and brutal fights define each day as we hunt rainbows that often feel more like saltwater fish than trout.

Throughout the trip, guests enjoy comfortable lodge accommodations, outstanding meals, and hands-on hosting that keeps the focus on maximizing time on the water. This is a small-group, experience-driven adventure designed for anglers who want to fish hard, explore wild places, and chase trout at the absolute top of the food chain.

Two iconic fisheries. One remote Patagonian journey. Sea-run browns and monster rainbows, this is trout fishing without compromise.
